3 tablespoons unsalted butter
10 pears, cut into cubes
3/4 cups raw sugar
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
2 cloves
1/4 teaspoons cardamom
1 star anise pod
1/2 cups nut , chopped
1/4 cups raisins
500 grams puff pastry
1 egg
2 tablespoons Great Value® icing sugar, for decoration

Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a deep skillet, melt the butter and add the pears and sugar. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add the lemon juice and spices and cook for 5 more minutes. Add the walnuts and raisins, mix, and let the liquid evaporate. Cool and set aside.
Roll out the puff pastry with a rolling pin and a little flour to 1 cm thick.
Add the pear filling, avoiding the edges, and roll up the dough. Seal and brush with egg.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the dough is cooked and golden. Remove from the oven, cool, and dust with powdered sugar.
