Spider Cupcakes

Delicious vanilla cupcakes decorated for Halloween with a cute spider. They are decorated with chocolate frosting, the legs can be made with straws or soft candies, and the eyes with a little frosting or red candies. They will be the hit at your party; don't forget to make them.

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla essence
  • 2/3 cups sour cream, sour cream
  • 2 cups chocolate frosting
  • black glaze for dessert, for decorating cookies

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Place 12 cupcake liners in a 12-cup muffin pan.
  • In a deep bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another deep bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until the mixture is fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue beating.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture 1/2 cup at a time, beating slowly to incorporate it. Add the sour cream and continue beating.
  • Pour the mixture into the cupcake liners.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before removing from the pan. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
  • With a spatula or a knife, cover all the cupcakes with the chocolate frosting.
  • Sprinkle black sugar all over the cupcake until covered. Insert the straws or soft candies you have obtained to form the legs. You can make the eyes with red frosting or small candies of that color.
