In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and baking powder until everything is mixed. Once it's combined, add the butter and mix completely again. Now add the egg and vanilla extract and incorporate well; if the mixture lacks moisture, add a little milk, one or two tablespoons.
On the table, place a layer of flour and roll out the dough to cut the cookies with a star-shaped cutter; you can also use a heart-shaped one.
Grease and flour a baking tray and place the cut cookies on it, preheat the oven to 170°C. Bake the cookies for 20 minutes or until they are golden.
Once they are ready and cool, decorate them with royal icing.
