Strawberry Jam Cake

Delicious and simple cake filled with jam and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups cow's milk
  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter , soft
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups strawberry jam
  • 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  • Preheat the oven to 375ºF. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and stir. Add milk, butter, and vanilla, and beat with an electric mixer on low speed until well combined.
  • Add eggs and beat for 2 more minutes. Pour the mixture into 2 equal round molds of 22 cm in diameter, previously greased with butter and floured. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • After this time, check that they are well cooked by inserting a toothpick into the cakes; it should come out dry. Place the molds on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Then unmold them and let cool on the racks.
  • Place one cake on the platter, cover it with jam, and put the other cake layer on top. Sprinkle powdered sugar with a sieve on top.
