This recipe is super easy for preparing dough for sweet tarts. It will be useful for many different desserts, such as a Pecan Pie or Raspberry Tart. If you want a crunchier dough, the Shortcrust Pastry recipe for pies would be more suitable.
First prepare the dough: combine in a food processor the flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and baking powder. Pulse 3 times.
Cut the half stick of butter into 5 pieces, add to the bowl, and process until there are no large chunks of butter, about 15 seconds.
Add one egg and pulse about 10 times until the dough forms into a ball. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead 3 or 4 times.
Form a ball and then flatten it and refrigerate for an hour, wrapped in plastic.
When you need the dough, take it out of the refrigerator and roll it out to a circle of 30 cm in diameter. Place it in a greased pie dish, pressing slightly. Trim the excess from the edges.
