Sweet Plantain Empanadas

Empanadas without male banana flour with dulce de leche, a delicious combination perfect for your sweet tooth. It is easy to prepare them and you will love them.

  • 4 plantains, mature
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup dulce de leche
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 6 cups water

  • Boil the 6 cups of water, remove the edges of the bananas and cut them into medium pieces.
  • Add the banana pieces to the boiling water. Then add the cinnamon slice, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Boil for 15 minutes.
  • Once the bananas are at their point, remove the water. Cut the pieces in half to remove the center and the shell.
  • Place the bananas in a bowl and mash with a fork until you get a smooth paste. Make balls using about 2 tablespoons of the banana paste.
  • Place the ball in the palm of the hand and flatten it to form a disk ½ cm thick. Place a teaspoon of dulce de leche in the center of the disc and form a small ball.
  • Fry in hot oil until golden brown. Mix the cup of sugar and the tablespoon of ground cinnamon, roll the balls in this mixture and enjoy.
