Microwave Capirotada

We made a delicious and easy version of a very traditional dessert, so we are sure you will love this microwave capirotada, which is prepared with cajeta and orange liqueur; the mix of flavors is simply irresistible!

  • 1 baguette, stale, sliced
  • butter, in cubes
  • 1 cup cajeta, for the soaking mixture
  • 1/2 cups evaporated milk, for the soaking mixture
  • 1/4 cups orange liqueur, for the soaking mixture
  • 1/4 cups walnuts
  • 1/4 cups peanuts
  • 1/4 cups almonds
  • 2 tablespoons coconut, grated
  • cream cheese, in small cubes
  • strawberries, for decoration
  • rainbow sprinkles, for decoration

  • Place the slices of bread on a platter and add butter on each slice. Cook in the microwave for 1 minute. Set aside.
  • Mix the cajeta, evaporated milk, and orange liqueur in a bowl until well combined. Set aside.
  • Place the slices of bread in an oven-safe dish, add some of the previous preparation, and add the nuts and coconut. Repeat the process until the dish is full.
  • Place the cubes of cream cheese on the last layer and cook in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  • Serve the capirotada in the microwave on a plate and decorate with strawberries and colored sprinkles. Enjoy!
