1 baguette
1 cup cow's milk
3 eggs
2 cups Great Value® canola oil
1 cup red wine
5 tablespoons Great Value® granulated sugar
1 star anise pod
1 cup plum, pitted and halved
2 tablespoons Great Value® icing sugar

Cut the bread into slices.
Beat the egg with the milk and dip the bread slices.
Heat the oil in a skillet and fry the bread, place on paper towels to remove excess grease.
For the prunes, heat the red wine with the sugar and star anise in a saucepan, cook for 5 minutes.
Add the prunes and cook for 5 more minutes or until they are soft.
Serve the torrejas with the red wine reduction and the prunes, garnish with a bit of powdered sugar.
