  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (180 C).
  • Place cupcake liners in a muffin tray.
  • Mix the cocoa, flour, and salt.
  • With an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat the sugar and oil until combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well to incorporate the mixture. Add the food coloring and vanilla.
  • Reduce the mixer speed and add the flour in three parts. After adding 1/3 of the flour, add half of the milk. Mix well and repeat until you finish with the flour. Mix the baking soda and vinegar in a small bowl (bubbles will form) and add to the mixture. Stir well for 10 seconds.
  • Divide the mixture among the cupcake molds with their liners. Bake for 20 minutes and let cool on a rack.
  • Prepare the cream cheese frosting. Beat the two sticks of butter (90 grams each) with the cream cheese at room temperature until fluffy. Reduce the speed and add 1 cup of powdered sugar. Then add the vanilla and mix well. Add the following cups of sugar, mixing after adding a little. Beat everything until you reach the desired consistency.
  • Put the frosting in a piping bag and decorate the cupcakes. Sprinkle with red sugar hearts.
