Vanilla Panna Cotta with Caramelized Oranges

A delicious dessert that can be made ahead of time, everyone will love this vanilla panna cotta with caramelized oranges.

  • 6 leaves gelatin
  • 125 milliliters cow's milk
  • 2 oranges, , zest
  • 2 pods vanilla essence, cut in half
  • 140 grams sugar, refined
  • 1.2 liters clotted cream, or cream
  • 250 grams sugar, fine
  • 5 tablespoons Grand Marnier
  • 5 oranges, segmented and reserve the juice

  • Place the gelatin in the cold milk for a couple of minutes. Meanwhile, place the orange zest, vanilla, and sugar in a saucepan, add 800 ml of cream and simmer for a few minutes.
  • Remove the gelatin from the milk, heat the milk and when hot, add the gelatin and stir until fully dissolved, then add to the cream, strain and let cool.
  • Lightly whip the remaining cream and add to the panna cotta.
  • Make the caramelized orange. Place the sugar in a saucepan and caramelize, add the Grand Marnier and orange juice, then add the segmented orange and remove from heat.
  • Put some caramelized orange in individual cups, then the panna cotta cream and finish with a bit more caramelized orange.
  • Place in the refrigerator for at least 5 hours.
