Walnut and Almond Pie

This delicious combination of walnut and almond will make you sigh with its fantastic flavor; a delicious pie, perfect to accompany an afternoon with a good cup of coffee. It has a crunchy butter crust and a soft and delicious filling.

125 grams butter
1/3 cups Great Value® granulated sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water, fry
2 cups Great Value® wheat flour
3 eggs
1/2 cups maple syrup
2 tablespoons Great Value® granulated sugar, for the filling
1 glass almond liqueur, 2 oz
1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 cups Great Value® walnuts
3/4 cups almonds, sliced
1 sprig peppermint, for decoration

Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
In a bowl or mixer, beat the butter with the sugar until creamy, add the yolk, incorporate the flour and the tablespoon of cold water.
Knead until you have a homogeneous dough, refrigerate for 20 minutes.
In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the maple syrup, add the sugar, cinnamon, almond liqueur and remove from heat, let cool.
Add the eggs to the previous mixture without beating too much. Set aside.
Roll out the pie dough in a mold, approximately 3 mm thick.
Pour the mixture, add the walnuts and almonds.
Bake for approximately 25 minutes.
