Walnut Balls

These delicious walnut balls are flourless and made with almonds or walnuts, egg, sugar, and butter. They are very tasty.

  • 1 1/2 cups almonds, or unsalted walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • grated sweet coconuts, or powdered sugar for decoration

  • Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
  • Grease 2 baking sheets with butter.
  • In a food processor, grind the almonds or walnuts and the salt.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, egg white, and butter. Cook over low heat until well mixed. Add the walnuts and mix well. Remove from heat.
  • Using your hands, make small walnut balls. Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before decorating and placing in candy wrappers.
