Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
Grease 2 baking sheets with butter.
In a food processor, grind the almonds or walnuts and the salt.
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, egg white, and butter. Cook over low heat until well mixed. Add the walnuts and mix well. Remove from heat.
Using your hands, make small walnut balls. Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before decorating and placing in candy wrappers.
