Cinnamon Atole

The atole is a very spoiled drink in Mexico and is so versatile, that it can be combined with countless flavors, and many times, it can be a simple version, like this cinnamon atole recipe. So that the cinnamon can be infused for a longer time, boil the milk over medium heat and maintain a medium to low temperature. This is a consistent and very good drink to start the day, accompanied with the breakfast dish that you like the most.

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • cow's milk
  • 4 cups evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cups raw sugar
  • 3 sticks cinnamon
  • cinnamon powder, to decorate

  • Dissolve the cornstarch in a little milk.
  • Heat the evaporated milk in a pot over medium heat, add the muscovado sugar and the cinnamon in a slice; add the dissolved starch in the milk and let it thicken for about 5 minutes.
  • Serve, decorate with cinnamon powder and enjoy!
