Bread Basket with Chilli

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, cut into large cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into small cubes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chile powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 4 tomatoes, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoons marjoram, dried
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tomato purée
  • 2 cups black beans, cooked and without broth
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bag Libanius® whole grain arabic bread

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat, add the onion, add the garlic and cook for 3 minutes until golden, add the bell peppers, the tomato and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and cook for 5 minutes until browned, add the seasonings, chili powder, paprika, dried oregano, and sugar, cook for 3 more minutes.
  • Add the tomato puree and black beans, season with salt and pepper and let cook for 40 minutes on low heat.
  • In a cupcake mold, flip the bottom part and place the whole wheat pita bread Libanius® to form a basket, bake for 20 minutes or until crispy.
  • Add a bit of chilli to the whole wheat pita bread Libanius® and enjoy.
