  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 cups button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Maggi seasoning sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, cook the onion and garlic with a little olive oil until transparent. Add the mushrooms, let the liquid reduce, add the cream cheese, season with Maggi sauce, cilantro, and salt if necessary. Let cool and set aside.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of 1 cm. Using a round cutter with a diameter of 5 cm, cut out several circles. In half of the circles, make a hole in the center with another cutter of 3 cm in diameter.
  • Attach a hollow circle on top of a complete one with a bit of egg yolk and place them on a baking sheet. Brush completely with more egg yolk and bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown, then remove and cool.
  • Fill the vol-au-vents with the mushrooms and garnish with chopped cilantro.
