Bacon Cake

  • 2 packages smoked bacon, slices
  • 200 grams cheese, for broiling

  • On a clean, flat surface, lay a bed of bacon (one package) in a horizontal line, ensuring that each slice of bacon overlaps slightly with no gaps in between, as this will cause the cheese to escape when broiled.
  • Make another layer of bacon on top of the first but in a vertical direction. Place the cheese covering most of the surface of the bacon and fold the ends toward the center, thus covering the uncovered part. Make sure there are no gaps where the broiled cheese can escape. The idea is to form a little package with bacon, and the cheese is the filling.
  • We proceed to fry our cake, placing a pan over medium-low heat with Oléico® Oil. Place the cake with the ends meeting first in the pan (this is to prevent our cake from falling apart), and let it fry for about 15 minutes or until it reaches the desired consistency; personally, I like it very golden and crispy.
