Nachos a la mexicana

The nachos, a culinary creation dating back to 1940, were created by Ignacio Anaya in Piedras Negras, Coahuila. Years later, it would become one of the snacks most popular worldwide, as we can find them in cinemas, at sporting events, and even at the Super Bowl.To give a twist to this very Mexican snack, we add a touch of chorizo, ground beef, beans, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream.Click here to see more nacho recipes

  • vegetable oil
  • 2 cups chorizo
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 800 grams nachos
  • 2 cups pinto beans, whole
  • 2 cups liquid yellow cheese
  • 1 cup Manchego cheese, grated
  • Jalapeño chile
  • pico de gallo
  • guacamole
  • sour cream

  • Heat oil in a pan, add the chorizo and cook for 3 minutes. Then, add the ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook for 12 more minutes or until all the ingredients are well cooked.
  • Place the nachos in a dish and add the meat and chorizo, the beans, the liquid yellow cheese, and the manchego cheese. Bake until the manchego cheese is melted.
  • Serve the nachos a la mexicana and accompany with jalapeño peppers, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream.
