Chicken Meatballs in Tomato and Cheese Sauce

Try this chicken and cheese meatball recipe, made with the delicious flavor of Hunt’s® Tomato and Basil Sauce, which will work great as a snack at your parties. They are delicious and very easy to prepare, plus their presentation makes them look great. The tip for perfect meatballs is to refrigerate them before frying, so the shape of the meatballs remains intact.

  • 2 cups ground chicken, for the meatballs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder, for the meatballs
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped, for the meatballs
  • 1/4 cups celery, diced, for the meatballs
  • 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese, grated, for the meatballs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs, for the meatballs
  • 1 1/4 cups Salsa de Tomate y Albahaca Hunt’s®, 680 g
  • 1 egg, for the meatballs
  • 1/4 cups parsley, finely chopped, for the meatballs
  • salt, for the meatballs
  • pepper, for the meatballs
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • Manchego cheese, sliced, for serving
  • baby arugula, for serving

  • Mix the ground chicken with garlic, onion, celery, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, Hunt’s® Tomato and Basil Sauce, egg, and parsley; season with salt and pepper until fully combined. Set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • Using your hands, form small balls. Fry them in hot oil over low heat, drain, and place them on a baking sheet. On top of each meatball, place a slice of Manchego cheese and bake until melted, for 6 minutes, at 180 °C. Set aside.
  • Paint the plate with Hunt’s® Tomato and Basil Sauce using a brush. Place an arugula leaf on top of a meatball and secure it with a skewer. Place the meatballs on the painted plate. Enjoy the chicken meatballs in tomato and cheese sauce!
