Sweet and Spicy Chicken Puff Pastries

A delicious snack for festive days, small pastries filled with sweet chicken and a spicy touch.

  • 1 tablespoon margarine, Iberia
  • 2 chicken breasts, with bone and skin
  • 1 onion, in large pieces
  • 2 cubes Knorr® tomato bouillon
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Habanero hot sauce, red
  • puff pastry, into 15 small pieces
  • 1 red onion, for accompaniment
  • 1 Habanero chile, for accompaniment
  • 1/2 teaspoons oregano , for accompaniment
  • 1 lemon , for accompaniment
  • 1 tablespoon honey, for accompaniment
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, for accompaniment
  • 1 teaspoon salt , for accompaniment

  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
  • Grease a baking dish with margarine and place the onion pieces at the bottom.
  • Rub the chicken breasts with the Knorr tomato cubes and pepper (save half a Knorr tomato cube) and place the breasts on top of the onion pieces, cover the dish with aluminum foil, and bake for 25 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, heat the sugar, orange juice, half a Knorr tomato cube, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and habanero sauce over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the oven and brush it with enough sweet sauce, return it to the oven uncovered for another 20 minutes.
  • After the time is up, take the chicken out of the oven and shred it using two forks; mix with the remaining sweet sauce and fill the puff pastries.
  • For accompaniment, slice the red onion and habanero chili into thin strips, mix with vinegar, salt, lime juice, honey, and oregano.
  • Serve the puff pastries accompanied by pickled red onion.
