Chilaca Pepper Strips

Chilaca pepper strips are the perfect side dish to accompany chicken or meat. I love preparing these strips; they are very tasty.

  • 1 kilo chilaca chile, or california pepper
  • 1 onion, girl
  • 2 squares chicken bouillon cube
  • 250 grams sour cream
  • 100 grams mennonite cheese (Chihuahua cheese)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tomatoes, red
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 glass water

  • Toast the chilies, peel them, and cut them into strips.
  • Cut the tomato into cubes, the onion into strips, and the garlic into thin slices.
  • Sauté the tomato, onion, and garlic in hot oil; once cooked, add water, chicken cubes, salt, and pepper.
  • When everything is boiling, add the cream and cheese cut into cubes.
  • And done!
