Banana and Coconut Wraps

This recipe for banana wraps is prepared during Holy Week and is very traditional in Venezuela.

  • 4 bananas
  • 1 coconut
  • 200 grams fresh white cheese, Grated
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
  • 2 teaspoons clove
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons sugar

  • Peel the bananas and boil them in a pot with hot water. Then, take them out and mash them in a bowl until they become a puree and form a homogeneous dough that is not watery. Set aside.
  • Peel the coconut and grate it, mix it with cheese, sugar, cloves, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Beat the eggs.
  • Form small balls with the banana dough, make a hole, fill them with the mixture, seal them, and shape them into an oval.
  • Dip them in the beaten egg and fry them in hot oil until they are slightly golden on both sides, then remove and place them on absorbent paper, wait for them to cool, and serve.
