Easy Serrano Ham Croquettes

This easy recipe for serrano ham-filled croquettes will drive all your guests crazy during the New Year's dinner. You will love it!

  • 2 cups butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups serrano ham, finely chopped
  • 2 cups panko, or breadcrumbs
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • In a hot pan, add butter and melt over low heat.
  • Add the flour and mix with the butter until it turns golden. Add nutmeg for flavor and aroma.
  • Incorporate the heavy cream and ground black pepper.
  • Finely chop the serrano ham and add it to the pan along with all the ingredients. Let it reduce until the mixture is thick. Cool.
  • Make small balls and dip them in the egg and then in the panko or breadcrumbs.
  • Dip again in the egg and then in the panko once more.
  • Fry the croquettes until they are golden brown and let them cool.
