Tuna Toast with Mustard

A unique quick dish for those moments of sharing with a guest. We all have these ingredients in the pantry, and it’s just a matter of making it in a few simple steps.

  • 160 grams canned tuna in water
  • 50 grams chipotle chile, marinated
  • 8 corn tostadas, baked
  • 2/3 cups canola oil
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cups white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, with seeds
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 avocado
  • mayonnaise, to taste
  • 2 lemons

  • The first step is to drain the tuna; it works better if it's from a pouch rather than a can.
  • While we can use store-bought dressings, in this recipe I include my version of the delicious mustard and honey dressing. In a jar that can be sealed, place canola oil, olive oil, white vinegar, mustard, honey, and salt. Seal and shake vigorously until an emulsion forms.
  • Place the tostadas on a flat plate and spread a little mayonnaise on them according to each person's taste.
  • Once the tuna is drained, place it on the tostadas, being careful not to break them. Squeeze a bit of lemon and pour ample mustard and honey dressing over the tuna.
  • Add slices of avocado and pieces of chipotle chili on top of the tostadas.
