Grasshopper Basket

This delicious appetizer is typical of Oaxaca, give a different touch to your meals starting with this delicious recipe.

  • 1 tortillas, large
  • 3/4 cups chapulines
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon onion, chopped
  • 1/2 limes, (juice)
  • salt, and pepper to taste
  • green salsas

  • Place the tortilla between two ladles and fry it to take the shape of a basket.
  • In olive oil, sauté the onion and garlic, add the grasshoppers, fry for a few seconds, add the lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Fill the basket with the cooked grasshoppers and place it on a plate over the green sauce.
