Homemade Esquites

The prepared esquites are one of the most popular Mexican snacks, as they can be found everywhere. Street vendors prepare them with lime juice, mayonnaise, cheese, and chili. They are very tasty and practical, so we’ll show you how to make them at home, don’t miss out!

  • Heat the oil in a skillet and sauté the onion, garlic, and árbol chiles.
  • Add the corn kernels, water, and epazote.
  • Season the esquites with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for 30 minutes or until the corn kernels are tender.
  • Serve in clay pots, accompanied by mayonnaise, fresh cheese, piquín chili, and lime.
