Quick Quiche

Quick quiche dish reduced in sugar. Contribution from SPLENDA® Zero Calorie Sweetener: 6% reduction in energy compared to the original recipe with sugar and 100% reduction of added sugar (sucrose).

  • 12 slices wholemeal bread, from the previous day
  • 60 grams margarine
  • 1/2 cups low-fat milk
  • 1 tablespoon Splenda, Granulated Sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon chives, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 60 grams Manchego cheese, low-fat shredded

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Remove the edges of the bread. Flatten with a rolling pin and brush one side with margarine. Press the slices of bread (the margarine side should be facing down) into a 12-cup muffin tin. Bake for 5 minutes.
  • Mix the milk, SPLENDA® Granulated Zero Calorie Sweetener, green onions, eggs, and cheese. Fill the bread cups and continue baking for 25-30 minutes or until golden and firm. Serve hot or cold.
