Caprese Panini

A Caprese salad made into a sandwich. A great option for a light yet gourmet dinner.

  • 3 telera rolls, (bread for sandwiches)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • leaves basil, washed and dried
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 120 grams Mozzarella cheese, in slices
  • pepper
  • salt

  • Cut the rolls in half and brush with olive oil.
  • Place the halves on a baking sheet (with the olive oil side facing down) and bake for about 10 minutes.
  • Layer fresh basil leaves, tomato, and sliced mozzarella on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste and cover with the other half of the bread.
  • Put back in the oven for another 5 minutes at very high temperature until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes.
  • Serve immediately.
