“Toast” with Gruyere, Mushrooms, and Thyme

This delicious recipe for toasted bread with mushrooms and gruyere cheese will be a hit when you're craving a snack. It's an ideal afternoon snack or simply as an appetizer, and it only takes 10 minutes to prepare!

  • 1 cup white button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 4 slices bread, Saníssimo® gluten-free, cut in half
  • 1 package Gruyère cheese, (150 g) sliced
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

  • Preheat the electric oven to medium temperature.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the mushrooms with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place some mushrooms on each half of the bread and top with slices of gruyere cheese.
  • Broil in the electric oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme, serve immediately.
