Banderillas with Pancake Mix

This Children's Day, skip the hassle by preparing these delicious and easy sausage and cheese banderillas made with pancake mix. Serve them with ketchup and mustard. You won't believe how easy they are and how delicious they turn out.

  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3/4 cups Great Value® whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoons Great Value® plain salt
  • 12 sausages, cut into thirds
  • 1/2 cups Manchego cheese, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups Great Value® oil, for frying
  • 1 cup wheat flour Great Value®
  • ketchup
  • mustard

  • For the batter, blend the pancake mix with the eggs, melted butter, milk, and salt.
  • Form the banderillas by inserting skewers into one-third of the sausages, alternating with a cube of cheese, sausage, cheese, and finishing with sausage.
  • Dust the banderillas with flour and set aside. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pot over medium heat.
  • Coat the banderillas with the batter and remove the excess. Fry for about 5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
