Hot Dog Muffins

These delicious hot dog muffins are savory and an original way to enjoy typical American sausages with bread.

  • 55 grams butter
  • 40 grams sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 110 milliliters cow's milk
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 80 grams corn masa flour
  • 70 grams wheat flour, normal
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 package turkey sausage

  • Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Mix the milk with the vinegar and wait a few minutes for the buttermilk to form.
  • Melt the butter for 30 seconds in the microwave. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar. Add the egg and buttermilk until you achieve a homogeneous mixture.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder, then sift them together. Add the flour mixture to the previous preparation in two batches, incorporating all the ingredients gently with smooth motions.
  • Grease a muffin tray with oil or butter and fill them with the batter up to 2/3 of their capacity, then place a sausage in the center. Let cool for 5 minutes, remove from the molds, and serve with ketchup or your favorite sauce.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
