Simple Cream Cheese Herb Spread

This delicious cream cheese spread with basil, black pepper, and lemon zest is perfect for your gatherings. You will give your guests something to whet their appetite with a different flavor they won't be able to stop eating.

  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil leaf, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime zest
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 190 grams cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons smoked bacon, fried, finely chopped
  • saltine crackers, for serving

  • Mix the basil, lemon zest, and pepper well on a plate.
  • Add the cream cheese to the basil mixture; roll it to coat all sides evenly, pressing the basil mixture against the cream cheese to adhere well. Cut the cream cheese block horizontally in half; press the Parmesan cheese against the cut side of the cream cheese. Top with the ham and the other half of the cream cheese, with the cut side facing down.
  • Serve at room temperature or heat it in the microwave until warm. Serve it as a spread with crackers.
