Fried green beans

A different and simple way to enjoy green beans, also called string beans, is to prepare them fried and serve them with our favorite dip; this is an easy recipe that kids will love.

  • 24 green bean, or fresh green beans
  • 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tablespoons garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoons ground oregano
  • salt, to taste (optional)
  • pepper, to taste (optional)
  • vegetable oil, enough for frying

  • Clean and remove the ends of the green beans.
  • In a large container, mix the breadcrumbs, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; in another container put the flour and in another the milk.
  • Heat the oil, remember to put enough to submerge them.
  • Dip each of the green beans first in the flour, then in the milk, and finally in the breadcrumbs. Let them rest. When you finish all, repeat the process to ensure they are double coated.
  • When the oil is hot enough, fry until golden, about 4-5 minutes will be sufficient. Place on absorbent paper and serve hot.
