Spicy Snack Platter

  • 3 cucumbers, for the pepilocos
  • Tajín® mild hot sauce, for the pepilocos
  • Tajín® clásico seasoning
  • 1 cup jicama, grated, for the pepilocos
  • 1 cup carrot, grated, for the pepilocos
  • 9 tamarind candies, for the spicy apples
  • 3 apples, for the spicy apples
  • 1/2 pineapples, cut into half moons, for the crazy pineapples
  • Tajín® fruity chamoy hot sauce, for the crazy pineapples
  • 2 kiwis, in cubes, for the skewers
  • 1/2 pineapples, in cubes, for the skewers

  • 2 mandarin oranges, in wedges, for the skewers
  • 1/2 cups strawberries, small, for the skewers
  • 1 cup nopal churrito snacks, for serving

  • 1 cup lady finger banana, dehydrated, for serving
  • 1 cup vegetable chips, for serving
  • Tajín® chipotle hot sauce, for serving

  • For the pepilocos, peel the cucumbers and cut them into 3 equal parts. Using a spoon, hollow out each part without reaching the bottom. Rim the edges of each cucumber by dipping them in liquid Tajín® and then in classic Tajín®. Fill the cucumbers with grated jicama and carrot, and set aside.
  • For the spicy apples, place the tamarind candies in a bowl and heat them in the microwave for 10 seconds. Using a rolling pin, flatten them to form a dough and wrap the apples completely. Sprinkle with classic Tajín® and cut into thick slices. Set aside.
  • Coat the pineapple slices by dipping them in Tajín® liquid and classic chamoy. Set aside.
  • Assemble the fruit skewers by inserting kiwi, pineapple or mango, mandarin wedges, and a strawberry onto skewers.
  • For assembly, on a large platter, arrange the crazy pineapples on the edges, followed by the spicy apples, pepilocos, and place the fruit skewers, nopal churros, peanuts, plantains, and vegetable chips in the center. Serve with lime and classic Tajín®, chipotle, and liquid chamoy. Enjoy.
