Traditional Salt-Baked Fish

We present you with a delicious, simple, and very healthy way to cook fish. It is a delicious salt-baked fish, cooked in the oven on a bed of salt. You won't believe how tasty it is and how easy it is to prepare.

  • 1 red snapper, approximately 500 g.
  • 500 grams sea ​​salt
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 pinch pepper

  • Preheat the oven to 250° C.
  • For the salt-baked fish: take the cleaned fish without entrails and stuff it with thyme and rosemary through the stomach. Place a 1 cm thick layer of salt on a baking tray. Place the fish on top of the salt and cover it with more salt until it is completely covered.
  • Put the tray in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • For the mustard sauce: add sour cream to a bowl and mix in the mustard. Add salt and pepper, mix well, and set aside.
  • Remove the baking tray from the oven, carefully break the salt crust, and remove the skin to reveal the fish. Cut off the head of the fish and serve immediately.
  • Serve with mustard sauce.
