  • 1 1/2 cups flour, for the batter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder, for the batter
  • 1 teaspoon paprika, for the batter
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, for the batter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder, for the batter

  • 1 egg, for the batter
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, for the batter
  • 1 cup beer, for the batter
  • 4 fish fillets, in strips
  • vegetable oil, for frying

  • In a bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, salt, egg, and mustard. Mix until combined.
  • Add the beer gradually and use a whisk to mix. Dip the fish fillets until covered and then remove the excess.
  • Heat the oil in a semi-deep saucepan and fry the fish fillets. Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  • Serve the fried fish with pico de gallo and limes.
