Gohan with Tampico Sauce

Low-calorie Japanese food recipe that, despite using only boiled rice, is very tasty with the added dressing or sauce.

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • soy sauce
  • 3/4 cups white rice
  • 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 sticks surimi, cut into small pieces
  • 90 grams cream cheese
  • 2 serrano chiles, sliced thin
  • 2 slices onion, finely chopped
  • 1 avocado, in cubes
  • few sesame seeds, toasted
  • few lime juice

  • Soak the rice in water for at least 10 minutes.
  • Rinse the rice and in a small saucepan, heat water with brown sugar and vinegar. Once it starts to boil, add the previously washed rice and let it cook for about 20 minutes. The rice will be done when it is firm but not hard and not mushy.
  • Surimi, chilies, onion, mayonnaise, and cheese are mixed to make a dressing commonly called Tampico sauce.
  • Once the rice is cooked, let it cool for 10 minutes.
