Panko-Crusted Tilapia with Spicy Tartar Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose wheat flour, all-purpose
  • 2 tablespoons Maggi chicken bouillon, divided use
  • 1 egg, large
  • 1 cup panko
  • 4 fish steaks, tilapia
  • 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons pickles, sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, Tabasco, Tapatio or Cholula

  • Put the flour and 1 tablespoon of broth in a shallow plate and mix well.
  • Beat an egg in another shallow plate. Put the panko and the remaining tablespoon of broth in a third shallow plate and mix well.
  • Put the fish in the flour mixture, covering both sides.
  • Dip the fish in the beaten egg, coating both sides. Then place the fish in the panko mixture, covering both sides. Place the fish in a baking dish.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the fish is fully cooked and the coating is golden brown.
  • FOR THE SPICY TARTAR SAUCE: Combine the mayonnaise, pickle, and hot sauce in a small bowl. For a spicier sauce, add more hot sauce to taste.
