Prepared Oysters

Oysters are an ideal option to consume during Lent. Enjoy these oysters with Salsa Huichol® Habanera, which also has a unique freshness. Try it as a snack for your gatherings or barbecues. Perfect to enjoy with beer or cold drinks.

  • 8 fresh oyster, live, clean
  • 1/2 cups red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato, in small cubes
  • 1 cup cucumber, in small cubes
  • 1/3 cups lime juice, seedless
  • 1 cup clam juice
  • 1/3 cups Salsa Huichol® Habanero hot sauce
  • 1/3 cups Salsa Huichol® black sauce
  • 1/2 cups tomato purée
  • 1 cup cilantro, finely chopped
  • salt
  • pepper
  • ice cubes, to serve the oysters
  • avocado, in small cubes, for decoration
  • lime, to accompany
  • Salsa Huichol® Habanero hot sauce, to taste
Preparation
Low
  • Open the oysters. Carefully insert the tip of a knife just at the joint of the oyster shells, quickly twist the knife simulating the motion of a key opening a lock; you will hear the sound of the shells separating, open the oyster with the knife lifting the shell upwards with force. Make the entire movement in one intention. Reserve the shells and place the scallop in a separate container. Repeat until finished.
  • Mix the scallops with red onion, garlic, tomato, cucumber, lime juice, clam juice, Salsa Huichol® Habanera, Salsa Huichol® Negra, tomato puree, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Combine and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve the prepared scallop on the shells you reserved and place them on a layer of ice underneath. Decorate with avocado and accompany with lime and Salsa Huichol® Habanera to taste.
