Seared Tuna with Olive Vinaigrette

A very tasty recipe for tuna with an olive oil vinaigrette.

  • 1/2 cups greek olive
  • 8 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 cups red onion , chopped
  • 1/2 cups basil
  • 1/4 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • slices french country bread
  • 4 fresh tuna steak, type there
  • 4 cups arugula

  • Take the olives, remove their pits and chop them.
  • In a deep bowl, mix the olives, 5 tablespoons of olive oil, the onion, basil, vinegar, and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Take the slices of bread and the tuna steaks and sear them with the remaining olive oil. Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the slices of bread for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove the bread from the skillet and cook the tuna for about 2 minutes on each side until seared (cooked on the outside and raw in the center).
  • Remove from heat the tuna cut into slices.
