Shrimp in Tequila with Árbol Chili

These delicious jumbo shrimp are sautéed with a tequila sauce, árbol chili, and honey.

  • 16 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 10 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons árbol chile, chopped
  • 1/4 cups Tequila, 100% agave
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • salt
  • pepper

  • Marinate the shrimp in honey in a baking dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before starting to cook.
  • In a large skillet, heat the oil and sauté the garlic for 1 minute. Add the árbol chili and sauté for 1 more minute.
  • Add the honey-marinated shrimp and cook for 1 minute on each side.
  • Add the tequila and let the shrimp cook for 2 more minutes, allowing the tequila to evaporate. Remove from heat.
  • Season with salt and pepper and serve.
