Cajun Shrimp

  • 1 tablespoon paprika, powder for the Cajun
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, powder for the Cajun
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, for the Cajun
  • 1/2 tablespoons thyme, powder for the Cajun
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder, for the Cajun
  • 1/2 tablespoons onion powder, for the Cajun
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper, for the Cajun
  • 1 teaspoon salt, for the Cajun
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cups hot sauce, (preferably for wings)
  • 2 cups shrimp, without head, with shell
  • chives, finely chopped for garnish
  • yellow corn, grilled to accompany
  • potato wedges, to accompany
  • lemon, halved to accompany

  • Mix the paprika with cayenne pepper, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Pour the melted butter, ensuring it is not too hot, add the hot sauce, and mix again until fully integrated with the help of a hand whisk.
  • Coat the shrimp with shell with the previous mixture until covered. In a hot skillet, cook the shrimp for 8 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
  • Serve on a platter, garnish with green onions. Accompany with grilled yellow corn, wedge potatoes, and yellow lemon.
