Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple Skewers

Prepare these delicious grilled shrimp and pineapple skewers, marinated in a sauce made with ginger, thyme, soy sauce, brown sugar, and a touch of spiced rum. Ideal for a barbecue with friends. You will love them!

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 green onion stalks, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoons Great Value® Sugar
  • 1/4 tablespoons Extra Special Olive Oil®
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rum, spiced
  • 1/2 oranges, juice and zest
  • 1 lime, juice
  • 500 grams medium-sized shrimp, clean, without head and tail
  • 1 can Great Value® canned pineapple
  • 1/4 red onions, in cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Great Value® canola oil

  • For the marinade, blend all the ingredients until you obtain a smooth mixture. Set aside.
  • Assemble the skewers alternating the shrimp with the pieces of pineapple and onion on the skewers.
  • Marinate the skewers with the marinade for about 10 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a grill pan or grill, and cook the skewers on both sides for about 10 minutes or until marked.
