KFC Shrimp

  • 2 cups medium-sized shrimp, clean
  • 2 cups whole milk, for marinating the shrimp
  • 1 cup whipping cream, for marinating the shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce, for marinating the shrimp
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • vegetable oil, for frying the shrimp
  • mashed potatoes, for accompaniment
  • coleslaw, for accompaniment

  • Place the shrimp in a bowl and soak with the milk, heavy cream, and hot sauce. Mix with a spoon, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Add the eggs in one bowl and the flour in another bowl. Add the garlic powder, paprika, pepper, salt, and baking powder to the flour bowl, then mix very well. Dip the shrimp in the flour bowl, then pass them through the egg bowl and return to the flour bowl. Set aside.
  • Fry the shrimp in a pot with enough oil over medium heat for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and place on a plate with paper towels.
  • Serve the KFC shrimp in a basket and accompany with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and mayonnaise dressing.
