Shrimp Cocktail

Delicious jumbo shrimp accompanied by a cocktail sauce. A very classic and elegant dish.

  • 2 cups white wine
  • 2 leaves bay
  • allspice berries
  • 2 limes
  • salt, to taste
  • 40 large shrimp
  • 1 cup ketchup, (for the cocktail sauce)
  • 1/2 tablespoons pepper, (for the cocktail sauce)
  • 1 lime, (for the cocktail sauce)
  • 1/2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce, (for the cocktail sauce)
  • 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, (for the cocktail sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon strong root, (for the cocktail sauce)

  • In a deep bowl, mix all the ingredients for the sauce, cover, and refrigerate.
  • In a large pot with water, add all the other shrimp ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Add the shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes, remove from the water and place on a plate with ice to cool.
  • Refrigerate the shrimp for 1 hour so they are very cold when serving.
  • Remove from the refrigerator and peel the shrimp without removing the tails, and use a knife to remove the intestines.
  • Serve the shrimp in Martini glasses with crushed ice and the cocktail sauce in the middle.
