Shrimp Tostadas with Mole

Try these delicious shrimp tostadas with mole! They have an incredible flavor thanks to the shrimp being sautéed with butter, onion, pepper, and then bathed in the delicious Mole Doña María® Rojo in Paste, which will give this recipe the ideal and delightful touch.

  • 1 jar Doña María® Red Mole Paste, 235 g
  • 3 cups water
  • salt
  • 1/4 cups tomato purée
  • 2 tablespoons butter, in small cubes
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups green bell pepper, in small cubes
  • 2 cups medium-sized shrimp, clean, peeled, and in small cubes

  • Add the Mole Doña María® Rojo in Paste to a pot, heat over medium for 5 minutes, and when it dissolves, gradually pour in the water, dissolving the mole to avoid lumps. Season with salt, tomato puree, and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, add the onion and garlic, and cook for 2 minutes. When they change slightly in color, add the green pepper and shrimp. Cook for 10 minutes, season with salt and pepper. Pour in the mole and continue cooking for 2 more minutes. It should be thick. Set aside.
  • To assemble the shrimp tostadas with mole: Place three tostadas on a plate, add two tablespoons of the shrimp with Mole Doña María® Rojo in Paste, garnish with cilantro leaves, and enjoy.
