Breaded Squid Rings

  • 1/2 kilos squid, cleaned and cut into 1 cm rings
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup white bread, freshly ground or panko
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper, with lemon
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea ​​salt
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, dried
  • 1 liter corn oil
  • 1 tub Extra Special® tartar sauce

  • Dry the squid very well and set them aside in a bowl
  • Mix the breadcrumbs with lemon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and dried parsley
  • Dip the squid in flour and egg (2 times) and then place them in the breadcrumb mixture. Transfer to a tray and place in the freezer for one hour
  • In a deep skillet, add the oil and heat over high heat. Once hot, reduce the flame to medium
  • Place half of the squid in cold oil until it stops bubbling, remove the squid from the oil and place them on a plate with paper towels
  • Repeat the process with the rest of the squid
  • Place the extra special tartar sauce in a small bowl to accompany the squid dish
