Toasted Bread with Pibil Tuna

If you are one of those people who only eats Toasted Bread in the morning for breakfast, we have an excellent easy recipe for Toasted Bread with Pibil Tuna. This crunchy recipe features tuna cooked with pibil, which is perfect for giving a twist to classic tuna recipes. For this typical Mexican recipe, you will need to marinate the tuna in sour orange or add 2 extra tablespoons of vinegar for better marination.

  • 25 grams achiote, for the marinade
  • 1/2 cups orange juice, sour, for the marinade
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar, for the marinade
  • 1 clove garlic, for the marinade
  • 1/4 tablespoons oregano, for the marinade
  • 1/4 tablespoons cumin, for the marinade
  • salt and pepper, for the marinade
  • 1 1/2 cups canned tuna, drained
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup refried beans, to accompany
  • 6 Bimbo® classic toasted bread
  • 1 avocado, diced, for garnish
  • onion, pickled, for garnish

  • Blend the achiote with the orange juice, white vinegar, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • In a bowl, mix the tuna with the previous preparation and marinate for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • In a medium skillet, heat the oil and cook the tuna for 5 minutes or until the liquid has reduced. Adjust seasoning and set aside.
  • On a Bimbo® Classic Toasted Bread, spread a little refried beans, add the pibil tuna, and garnish with avocado and pickled onions.
