If you use smoked tuna, it usually comes in a large piece, so you need to shred it with your hands or, if you prefer, chop it into small pieces with a knife.
If you can't find this type of tuna and decide to use canned tuna, just drain the liquid, whether it's oil or water, and separate the large pieces with a fork.
Once you have the tuna ready, mix it with Philadelphia cream cheese, which I recommend having at room temperature so it becomes creamy when mixed with the tuna.
Once you have mixed these two ingredients, season by adding finely chopped cilantro, chopped serrano peppers, onion, and lemon (the zest and juice); from the latter, just a little juice is needed to add acidity and cut the strength of the smoked tuna.
Mix everything very well and taste.
Sometimes depending on the tuna you buy, it can be a bit salty, so once you have mixed the ingredients, taste the mixture and decide if it needs a bit more salt or not.
If you're going to use it on crackers or toast, I recommend putting it on just at the moment of serving to avoid softening the cracker.
Another serving suggestion is to place the tuna preparation in a nice bowl and put the crackers, toast, or slices of bread on the side.
You will see what a great snack it is.
