Tuna-Filled Cannelloni with Tomato Sauce

Cannelloni are an Italian classic, try this exquisite version, filled with tuna and dehydrated tomato, which gives it a very sophisticated flavor. They are served with tomato sauce and cheese. You will love them.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons nut , finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons capers
  • 8 envelopes Marina Azul® tuna with tomato dehydrated in olive oil, (74 g each) for the filling
  • 2 envelopes Marina Azul® tuna in olive oil, (74 g each) for the filling
  • 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil , for the sauce
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped, for the sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped, for the sauce
  • 4 tomatoes, poached and chopped, for the sauce
  • 2 sprigs basil, for the sauce
  • salt and pepper , for the sauce
  • 1/3 cups white wine, for the sauce
  • 12 cannelloni pasta
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, for gratin

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil and cook the onion with the garlic, walnuts, capers, and Atún Marina Azul®.
  • Add the parmesan cheese and oregano, cook for 2 more minutes. Set aside.
  • For the sauce, in a pot, heat the olive oil, onion, garlic, tomatoes, basil, season with salt and pepper, cook for 5 minutes, add the white wine, and let reduce for 3 more minutes. Set aside.
  • Fill the cannelloni with the tuna filling, place in a baking dish, cover with the sauce, add mozzarella cheese, and bake for 15 minutes or until the cannelloni are cooked.
  • Serve accompanied by baguette and salad.
