Hot Dog Smoking

This is a very creative recipe to prepare delicious hot dogs and enjoy Oscar night.

  • 9 hot dog buns
  • 9 turkey sausage
  • mustard, to taste
  • mayonnaise, to taste
  • ketchup, to taste
  • 1 cup Jalapeño chile, finely chopped
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato, finely chopped

  • Bring the sausages to a boil in a large pot with water for 20 minutes or until well cooked.
  • Remove the sausages from the pot and dry them well.
  • Toast the buns either on a grill or in a small oven.
  • Place the sausage inside the buns.
  • With black and white tissue paper, wrap the hot dogs simulating a smoking.
  • With red paper, cut strips, and also cut two triangles joined in a bow shape.
  • With red push pins, attach the ribbon with the bow to the tissue paper (see the photo).
  • Put all the ingredients (ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, peppers, onion, and tomato) and prepare to taste.
